Are you an experienced Support Worker with a passion for making a difference in a supported living environment? If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!

-

About the people we support:

We have 5 young men who love getting out and having fun! They especially love going out on their bikes but also enjoy playing badminton, swimming, going to the cinema (drama), hitting the gym and attending college during term time.

They have autism and learning disabilities and require support to increase their independent living skills in a supported living setting. A positive support worker that is active, enthusiastic and shares their interests would be a wonderful match.

What will I be doing?

  • You will be supporting the young men to live their lives how they choose, to be themselves, and to achieve their goals
  • You will be supporting the gentlemen with their personal care (varying degrees of independence), meal preparation, medication administration, budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and laundry
  • The young men can experience behaviours of distress at times, and whilst person-centred training will be provided, you will need to have some previous experience supporting people with complex behavioural needs to be a good match for their team
  • Some of the young men also require support with their mobility and one gentleman is a wheelchair user - training will be provided
  • The young men have their own car to make travelling more comfortable and enjoyable for them, so it's essential that you have a full UK driving licence

Shifts Patterns:

  • 3pm-10pm (Day Shifts)
  • 9am-3pm (Day Shifts)
  • 9am-9am the following day (including a £45 sleepover shift)
  • 9pm - 9am (Waking nights)
  • Shorter personal 1-1 support hours are also required
  • We're looking for people to work a combination of shifts on a rota covering both weekdays and weekends
  • You will receive your rota at least 4 weeks in advance to support a healthy work / life balance - something we're really passionate about!

Benefits:

  • 30 days annual leave pro rata
  • Option to buy and sell additional leave
  • £200 refer a friend bonus
  • Paid training and funded accredited courses
  • Bike to Work scheme
  • Discounts on meals, shopping, entertainment, and gym memberships

Other important information:

  • Applications are reviewed upon receipt and interviews will take place until the positions are filled
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be incurred by Dimensions.
  • We welcome applications from everyone with the right to work in the UK and value diversity in our workforce
  • As disability confident leaders, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy
  • As part of our commitment to making reasonable adjustments we can offer support to complete your application. Please contact the Resourcing Consultant Team on 03003039150 if you require adjustments
