Packing Supervisor

We are looking for a Packing Supervisor to work at out Pontefract site
Reporting to the Site Manager on a day to day basis, you will be responsible for managing the Packing area to ensure colleagues are motivated to deliver in their role leading to safe, efficient and high standards.
You will have key relationships with other departments including but not limited to Production, Planning, Engineering, HSE, HR and Technical.

Some of your summary responsibilities of the role are;
- Work planning and tracking all targets (using BDE and M3)
- Allocating and controlling resources
- Understanding the departmental goals and targets
- Complete relevant stock checks
- Decision making
- Problem solving
- Continuously looking to identify and implement ways to improve the performance of the department
- Take personal responsibility for your own development, continuously learning and developing to enable you set a good example
- Champion employee engagement through team talks
- Monitor and manage colleague performance effectively ensuring specifications and procedures are followed
Ingredients that you bring with you:
- Previous experience in Food Manufacturing is essential
- Awareness/Knowledge of Health and Safety/Food Hygiene standards
- Excellent level of communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate well at all levels
- IT literacy skills, particularly Excel
- Ability to work under pressure whilst meeting deadlines and achieving targets
- Proactive problem solver who embraces challenge
- Ability to work to and deliver on completing deadlines
- Experience of supervising a team is essential
- A passion for developing confidence and skills in your team
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills
- Strong project management skills

Hours of Work:
Working 40 hours per week on alternating shifts; 06:00 to 14:00 and 13:55 to 21:55
